I am one of those Microsoft fans, but not a full-fledged member… yet…. still waiting for the pesky Surface Pro 4 announcement, hihi. Anyway, as a show of my dedication to the Microsoft ecosystem, I am a proud Office 365 subscriber, and active user on Windows OS (ok ok, I am sorta cheating running it on bootcamp in Macbook Air, but again, waiting of that Surface Pro 4, so give me a break 🙂 ). I am also a proud Windows Insider, running Windows 10 + Office 2016 preview and I gotta say.. I LOVE IT!!! I’m so in love with it, that I took the leap and use it on my work laptop.
Problem though is I just could not find the silence mode for notifications 😦 In windows 8 and 8.1 it was very easy to find in the charms screen, but in the new Notification center, it was no where to be found. Alas I found it! and here are the steps:
NOTE: these steps assume you are running build 10074
- In your System Bar (notification bar), locate the Notification Center icon
- Right click and locate “hide notifiactions for” in the menu. Here you can select 1 hour, 3 hours, or 8 hours.
- When it is successfully silenced, you will see the icon switch to display
- To display notifications again, right click on the same icon and select Show Notifications
One problem I am still trying to troubleshoot still is how to silence the sound 😦 That is still being activated. I should note I had same experience in Windows 8.1 as well and will make sure I add it to the feedback in the Insider Hub.
Have you found a solution to the sound issue? Let me know in the comments and I’ll update the blog 🙂
